MICHAEL BAUMGARTEN
I CAME ACROSS THIS PHOTOGRAPHER IN AN OLD COPY OF VOGUE. HE CREATES MANY STILL LIFE FASHION IMAGES LIKE THE ONES SHOWN ABOVE. THESE PARTICULAR PHOTOGRAPHS I JUST LOVE. I LOVE THE WAY THE BRIGHT ORANGE POPS AGAINST THE CLEAN WHITE BACKGROUND. I ALSO LIKE THE WAY SOMETHING ELSE, FOR EXAMPLE THE GOLDFISH HAS BECOME THE CENTRE OF THE IMAGE RATHER THAN THE MODEL. ONLY THE MODELS HANDS ARE SHOWN SO THAT MUCH MORE FOCUS IS PUT ON THE JEWELLERY WITHIN THE PHOTOGRAPH. I THINK THESE IMAGES ARE QUIRKY AND A GREAT USE OF PROPS, SHOWING THAT A MODEL ISN'T ALWAYS NEEDED TO CREATE A FANTASTIC FASHION IMAGE.
